Travel Tips
-
Check your passport has 6 months validity from the time you expect to return home from your trip. Make sure you have a photocopy of your important documents.
-
Put extra cash onto your credit card before you travel so you won’t have such a huge bill on your return.
-
Don’t pack what you don’t need! Gather all the clothes you think you’ll want and then put half of them back in your wardrobe!
-
Take a pack of cards, a portable board game or iPod to occupy yourself – there might be time waiting at airports, train stations etc
-
Always read up on a city before you get there. It pays to know a little about the basics such as transportation, weather, do's & don'ts.
-
Put a unique marker on your suitcase so you can recognise it easily when it comes around on the baggage carousel.
-
Avoid packing your travel documents, medication and other valuable items such as money, jewellery and keys in your checked–in luggage.
-
Don’t be too adventurous while checking out the exotic local cuisine - have food only at those places which appear clean and hygienic.
-
On board, match each alcoholic beverage with at least two glasses of water. Don’t forget to exercise and stretch too.
-
Talk to your seat neighbours once in awhile. They could surprise you and be quite interesting. If not, you can say you’re tired and will probably never see them again. I have met some of the most interesting people in my life on an aeroplane. If you don’t try, you’ll never know.
