Steve Lee

Director

Steve brings over 35 years travel industry experience to our company. Like many in the NZ Travel Industry today, Steve had his beginnings in the Government Tourist Bureau before moving into retail travel, including working several years at Dalgety World Travel, London. Until 2007 Steve was Manager of Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Palmerston North, completing an era of 25 years with that agency and its many previous local entities (Dalgety Travel, Focus Travel, Synergi Travel & TQ3Navigant) many of those as a shareholder.

Steve has been actively involved in the local community for many years – he was a board member of Destination Manawatu for 8 years and for 11 years has sat on the Sport Manawatu Board of Trustees, 4 of those as Chairman. Currently Steve sits on the board of one of New Zealand’s largest and most respected secondary schools, Palmerston North Boy’s High School.

Having led several overseas tours, including the 1991 and 1995 World Cup Rugby Supporters Tours to the UK and South Africa, Steve has particular expertise in the area of group travel and his knowledge is regularly sought by clients and Travel Brokers alike.

Guy Flynn

Director

Guy has been involved in the travel industry for 20 years. After graduating from Hotel and Tourism School, Guy began his career training as a hotel manager in various tourist hotels around New Zealand and Australia. Following this he travelled extensively for 5 years on his OE. This took Guy to over 50 countries providing many memorable travel experiences that cemented his passion for the travel industry.

Upon returning to New Zealand in 1994, Guy introduced himself to the corporate travel sector at Focus Travel Wellington where he worked for 12 years. During this time Guy progressed through a series of roles including Business Travel Consultant, Sales Manager and Manager of the Wellington operation. As Manager he also led the Wellington operation through a succession of name and ownership changes to Synergi Travel, TQ3Navigant and Carlson Wagonlit Travel.

The decision to establish NZ Travel Brokers in 2007 was based on providing a travel solution focused on personalised service. As a director of NZ Travel Brokers, Guy is actively involved in Sales, Finance and IT.

Kim Diamond

Operations Manager

Kim is one of the best in her field. She provides a wealth of knowledge and experience across a wide range of travel sectors.

Having graduated with a Certificate in Travel Consultancy in 1990, Kim first entered into the Wholesale Travel Market for 7 years before moving into Corporate Travel for 11 years. During this time she travelled extensively overseas and worked for American Express Corporate Travel in London.

Upon returning to New Zealand in 2001, Kim continued to work in Corporate Travel joining a large corporate travel company in Wellington. Kim performed diligently with this organisation by progressing through a series of roles including Senior Business Travel Consultant, Operations Manager and Business Process Analyst.

In more recent years, Kim has enjoyed directing her superior operational and technical skills towards quality control and researching and implementing best practice procedures.

As Operations Manager at NZ Travel Brokers, Kim performs a visionary role to optimise our operation. She provides dedicated support and general operational guidance to the entire team at NZ Travel Brokers. Kim is indeed an asset to our team.

Justine Burgham

Senior Travel Consultant 

Justine began her career in travel in the late 80’s at Focus Travel Palmerston North with Steve Lee as her Manager. Whilst she has had wide experience in all facets of travel, Justine’s experience is largely in corporate travel, specifically with the Oil and Gas and Farming Industries, in Taranaki.  The skills she developed as a result required having to make decisions quickly with extremely high attention to detail. 

As a result of forming close working relationships, when it came time for those executives, rig workers and farmers to have a holiday themselves she was then able to show them the pleasurable side to travelling!

After 4 years at Focus Travel Palmerston North and 9 years at Stars Travel New Plymouth, Justine took her skills to the classroom tutoring Taranaki’s budding travel agents for 3 years before being enticed back to the frontline at Stars Travel again.

Justine brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the office and is an integral part of the team.

Rachael Rowe

Senior Travel Consultant

Rachael is NZ Travel Brokers most recent addition to the team. Rachael brings all the knowledge that naturally comes with an individual who has been dedicated to travel consulting for 22 years. We are indeed privileged to have Rachael on our team.

Born and educated in the Manawatu, Rachael started her travel career in Taupo in 1988 before returning to Palmerston North in 1992 and joining Steve Lee back then at Focus Travel. During her lengthy time there, Rachael demonstrated commitment beyond the norm and had undertaken a variety of important roles within that organisation.

In her personal time, Rachael is a mad keen sportsperson having represented Manawatu in her chosen sports Tennis and Hockey. Her efforts on the sports field are mirrored in the work environment where she has also highly achieved.

Now with NZ Travel Brokers, Rachael will focus on consulting to the local market and supporting our wider team. Her experience and passion for the travel industry and dedication to the customer will prove invaluable and complimentary to our success.

Jordyn McCaskie

Travel Consultant

Jordyn has been a member of our team from the day we first started trading. After expressing a strong interest to join the travel industry as a career, we employed Jordyn as an office junior back in 2007 with the aim of training her to be a Travel Consultant.

Jordyn not only performs the critical roles of general office support to our Broker team and office administration duties, but has developed consultancy skills beyond her years.

Jordyn’s calm and dedicated manner have stood her in a strong position to succeed in this dynamic industry and for NZ Travel Brokers.
